Your railway – Our community Our Responsible Journey start’s with you!
Sustainability is one of those buzzwords we hear all the time. It’s often dismissed as a fad or something that someone else will worry about. However, CrossCountry and our industry partners are now making plans based on a sustainable approach to business. There is a common misconception that being sustainable is purely about the environment. Yes it is partly about that, but beyond the natural environment, sustainability is a concept that has much broader scope – jobs, people, the local economy and even money. Here at CrossCountry, we believe that to be considered sustainable, a business must look beyond its immediate needs and act in a way that protects the needs for future generations. But that is not to say it is purely a selfless act created to win you over! While it is about considering the long-term future of our local communities and natural resources, it is also about conserving the long-term future of our own business and its ability to grow in line with demand and community expectations. That is why commitment to sustainability is led from the top of our organisation and integrated into every part of our business encouraging our employees to proactively identify ways they can contribute. As an advocate for responsible leadership we believe in shared value creation, creating resilient communities along our network, a thriving workplace and a sustainable inclusive future for those around us. We have still lot’s to do, but ultimately our responsible journey all starts with you. So if you have any ideas on how we may improve our community impact we would love to hear from you!
